Connecting your Tesla account

SolDial connects through Tesla's official Fleet API using the standard "Sign in with Tesla" OAuth flow.

You never type a Tesla password into SolDial

When you sign in, you're taken to Tesla's own login page. You authenticate there and approve a set of permissions. SolDial only ever receives a scoped access token — it never sees, handles, or stores your Tesla (or any) password.

If any Tesla app ever asks you to type your Tesla.com username and password directly into it, that's a red flag. The official OAuth flow exists so you never have to.

What permissions does it request?

SolDial requests access to your energy site (Powerwall + solar) and vehicle information, plus the command scopes needed to act on your behalf — for example setting backup reserve or scheduling charging. You see and approve these on Tesla's consent screen, and you can grant or withhold them there.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Tesla anytime from Settings → Tesla Connection, which revokes SolDial's token. To also remove SolDial from your account's Third-Party Apps list, do so in your Tesla account settings. Deleting your SolDial account does both automatically.
