SolDial (operated by Soldial, LLC — "SolDial," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website and app.

Information we collect

When you create an account and connect your Tesla system, we collect the information needed to provide the service — including energy data from your Powerwall, solar, and vehicles accessed via the Tesla Fleet API with your explicit authorization, plus the system details and preferences you enter (such as your utility rate plan and permissions).

How we use your information

We use your email to send you updates about SolDial. We use your energy and account data solely to power your dashboard and provide monitoring, forecasting, automation, and optimization features. We never sell or rent your personal information or energy data to anyone.

Tesla account data

SolDial connects to your Tesla account through Tesla's official Fleet API using OAuth 2.0. You authenticate on Tesla's own page and authorize specific permission scopes — you never enter your Tesla password into SolDial, and we never see or store it. You can revoke SolDial's access at any time from your Tesla account settings or by deleting your SolDial account. We store your Tesla API tokens encrypted and use them only to act on your behalf.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers and encrypted at rest, with all traffic protected by TLS. We apply industry-standard practices to protect your information. Energy readings are retained to provide history, forecasting, and savings analysis within the app.

Location

SolDial does not track your vehicles' location. Any location-based feature is opt-in and used only for the stated purpose (for example, weather and solar-forecast lookups based on a postal code you provide).

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and SolDial is ad-free.

Third-party services

SolDial relies on a small set of providers to operate, including Clerk (authentication), Apple (App Store subscriptions and billing on iOS), and Neon (database hosting). Each maintains its own privacy and security practices. We share with them only what is necessary to operate SolDial.

Your rights

You can export all of the data we hold on you at any time from within the app, and you can permanently delete your account and associated data with one tap in Settings — which also revokes SolDial's access to your Tesla account.
