Version labels like 1.0 (Build 8) track the app build you install from the store. The v1, v2… count is our day-to-day progress between builds — so you can see what we shipped even when the build number hasn't changed.

Quality of Life v28 August 15, 2026

You stay signed in now. Sessions used to expire every 7 days, so each of your devices asked you to log in again weekly — the most-reported annoyance we’ve had. Fixed at the account level: sign in once per device and you’re in for good. Existing sessions age out on their old clocks, so expect one final login per device this week, and then never again.
VPP credits now reach back before you installed SolDial. The daily no-import credit and export top-up could only be verified on days SolDial was watching your system, so a billing cycle that started before you signed up showed only a few days of credits. Open a range that needs earlier days and SolDial now pulls them from Tesla’s own minute-level records — the Powerwall’s history goes back well before the app existed — and evaluates each day’s credit window on real data. A day the record shows you imported during the window still, correctly, earns nothing.
Download the expected-solar model. Settings → Account → Export my data gains three tabs: the full hour-by-hour model year (8,760 rows), a daily rollup, and a method sheet showing exactly what the dashed line is built from — your array configuration, your site’s coordinates, and your system’s calibration factor — with raw-model and calibrated columns side by side. Requested by a user who wanted to check our math; now anyone can.
Colorways: the full month to earn, and no early peeking. A leftover testing shortcut let next month’s Wrapped card be opened — and its colorway earned — from the 28th, on partial-month stats, and quietly closed the current card’s earn window three days early. A month’s card now exists only once that month has fully ended, and its colorway stays earnable right up until the next card arrives.

Accuracy & Rates v27 August 13, 2026

Savings and Self-Powered now understand grid charging. If your Powerwall ever charges from the grid — a free midday window, a cheap overnight rate, or plain off-peak arbitrage — those kilowatt-hours were being counted as your home running on the grid. Days you actually ran mostly off your own battery could read 0% self-powered with no savings to show for it. Energy is now attributed properly (solar to your home first, then the battery, the grid only for what’s left), and savings subtract what the grid charging cost, so the number reflects the real spread you captured. Systems that never charge from the grid are unaffected.
Smarter automation suggestions. Suggestions now carries the same protections Energy Autopilot has: it offers the outage rule that pauses car charging when the grid goes down, it won’t propose holding your Powerwall full on a time-of-use plan (that leaves the price spread on the table), it times reserve and charging changes to your real off-peak start instead of midnight, and its savings estimates count the days a saving actually happens rather than assuming all thirty. Both now check whether selling stored power genuinely beats using it before suggesting any export change — and Autopilot learned that critical-peak rates apply only on called event days.
Retailer charging programs. If your electricity retailer schedules your car’s charging in exchange for a discounted rate — Origin EV Power Up and AGL’s night rate in Australia to start — you can now tell SolDial on the Cars tab, and it stays out of that car’s way: no charge commands, no AI-written rules for it, and one clear message with a link to the rule if an existing automation tries. It’s set per car, so your other vehicles keep full automation, and a household sharing one Tesla account sees the same setting on both phones. Not on the list? Enter your program’s name and rate.
Rate plans that match your actual bill. Time-of-use windows can now be saved at $0.00/kWh for genuinely free periods. Utility Rates gains an optional daily supply charge, and a VPP & plan credits section for the conditional payments some plans make — a daily credit for importing nothing during a window, or a feed-in top-up for the first few kWh exported — which appear as their own row in your savings breakdown. Australian users can load GloBird ZEROHERO complete with its free 11am–2pm window and both credits, and outside the US the preset picker now sits at the top of Utility Rates where it belongs.
28-day billing cycles. Billing Cycle settings now offers two cycle types: calendar month, or a fixed length for retailers that bill every 28 days from an arbitrary date. Pick your length and the start date of any real bill, and the dashboard’s billing filter, watch stats, briefing email, and bill-trending alerts all follow the same window.
History backfill fixed outside the US. First-connect history was anchored to UTC midnight, which for timezones east of UTC made Tesla return a single day per month — a new UK or Australian account’s history was years of nothing but first-of-the-months, and Monthly Analysis looked almost empty. Anchors are now local to your site and DST-aware, and US systems gain the last evening of each month the old anchor was quietly cutting off.
Autel chargers, ready to go. Autel joins MOTEN/Joint and Wallbox as a pick-your-brand option when adding an OCPP charger, with setup tips for its quirks — including the trailing slash its firmware insists on in the server address. The 80A AC is confirmed working, start and stop. A charger that quietly does what your automations tell it also stops being marked “untested” forever: a successful automated start or stop now counts as proof. EV charger setup →
No car talk if you don’t have a car. Powerwall-only accounts no longer get vehicle content they can’t use — the hourly-plan card drops its charging window, storm and outage emails drop the EV advice, and the AI no longer writes car rules or triggers for an account with no vehicle.
Fixes. “Feels Like” in the weather card now reads in your temperature unit instead of always Fahrenheit. Changing your country applies everywhere immediately — presets, postcode labels, currency, temperature units — instead of waiting for a reload, and System Info moved above Utility Rates since it shapes what that section shows. The colorways shelf no longer lists an upcoming month as one you’ve already missed. Removing an EV charger shows its confirmation on screen rather than halfway up the page. The “can’t find your Powerwall” message now covers both causes — your phone’s WiFi and the Powerwall’s own network connection. And the Go Pro screen only promises a free trial when the store actually has one for you.

International v26 August 10, 2026

SolDial goes international. Now available in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada — with local pricing in each store. Pick your country in Settings → System Info and everything follows: your currency across savings, emails, and Wrapped; your postcode resolving properly; and rate presets built for your market. US accounts see no change at all.
Octopus Agile, natively. UK users on Agile get full half-hourly support: choose it on the Hourly tab, your grid region resolves from your postcode automatically, automations trigger on the live half-hour price — negative plunge prices included — savings are measured against real Agile history, and tomorrow’s posted prices appear as the day-ahead plan around 4 PM. Rate plans for three new markets. UK: Standard Variable, Economy 7, and smart TOU shapes with SEG export defaults. Australia: flat anytime and time-of-use with feed-in defaults. Canada: Ontario’s regulated plans — including Ultra-Low Overnight, the strongest Powerwall arbitrage spread SolDial serves anywhere (3.9¢ overnight vs 39.1¢ peak) — plus Ontario TOU with automatic summer/winter windows, Hydro-Québec, and BC Hydro.
Fahrenheit or Celsius, your call. Settings → System Info now has a temperature unit choice. It defaults to your country’s norm and applies everywhere temps show — the dial, weather panel, history chart, and Wall Connector readings.
Weather resilience abroad. UK, Australian, and Canadian systems get the same weather backup US systems have — MET Norway steps in if the primary source goes down — and pre-storm alerts now work outside the US, detecting severe conditions from the forecast for today and tomorrow.

Powerwall Wrapped v25 July 30, 2026

Your month, one card. On the 1st of each month SolDial hands you a shareable card: what your system avoided — the grid bill you’d have had with no solar and no battery versus what you actually paid, priced against your real rate plan — plus self-powered share, solar produced, outages you rode through, and more. Built after your month closes in your own timezone, delivered at 10 AM local, shared straight from the card (a Hide $ option swaps the money for the percentage first). How it works →
Collectible colorways. Each month’s card carries a limited color theme — July Plum starts the collection — earned only by sharing that month’s card. Once the next Wrapped arrives, it’s gone for good. Apply yours in Settings → Display and the whole dashboard wears it, with a subtle shimmer while it’s on.
Real Android sharing. App 1.0.8 (on Google Play now) adds the native Android share sheet — the card goes straight to any app, no screenshots.
Utility guides on the site. Plan-by-plan Powerwall strategy guides built from real tariff data — PG&E EV2-A, SDG&E EV-TOU-5 on NEM 3.0, SCE TOU-D-PRIME, APS demand charges, ComEd hourly, FPL flat, Hawaii no-export, Duke CPP, BGE, LADWP — now live at soldial.com/guides, linked from every page.

Charts, pairing & polish update v24 July 29, 2026

Charts show the whole period — future included. “This month”, “This quarter”, “This year”, Billing Month, and any custom range ending in the future now span the entire period instead of stopping at today. The Estimates view includes the current period as it fills in plus estimate ticks for what’s ahead, and the Energy view draws a dashed expected-solar guide across the rest of the window — so July shows all of July, and a year shows all twelve months. “…so far” filters still end at now, as they should.
The Devices tab remembers your layout. Reorder the sections, leave some open and some collapsed — it now reopens exactly how you left it, synced to your account across devices. (A save bug had been silently resetting it on every visit.)
The dial is snappy when you’re watching, frugal when you’re not. Locally-paired systems keep their 3-second home-network power flow. Cloud dashboards adapt: full 5-second updates while you’re using the app, easing to 10 seconds after the screen sits untouched a few minutes — touch it and it’s instantly snappy again. Also fixed a long-standing bug where every open dashboard quietly ran two identical live feeds.
A nudge toward faster updates. If you watch the dashboard on cloud data for a while and haven’t paired your Powerwall locally, a one-time tip explains what pairing gets you — 3× faster updates on home WiFi and a dial that keeps working during an internet outage — with Pair / Remind Me Later / Don’t Show Again. And if a paired system quietly loses its home-network connection, the app gives you a heads-up instead of silently falling back to slower cloud updates.
Honest history for unplugged cars. A charge rule that fires while no car is plugged in now logs as skipped with a plain note (“no car was plugged in, so there was nothing to charge”) instead of showing up as a failure.

Control & honesty update v23 July 26, 2026

Choose when a combined rule fires. Combined rules always had two possible behaviors — fire when everything becomes true in any order, or fire only at one chosen condition’s moment with the others already holding — but the app picked for you. A new Fires selector on every combined rule lets you choose, and change it later when editing.
“Only when the car is plugged in.” New conditions for Tesla vehicles and EV chargers — plugged in or not — so “when the Powerwall hits 95% between 10 and 3, start charging” can be guarded to run only when the car is actually connected. Charge-starts are plug-aware everywhere now: if nothing is plugged in when a rule fires, SolDial skips the start with a plain note (and a one-time heads-up) instead of failing cryptically — and never wastes a wake-up on a car with no cable.
Rate windows: shared boundaries, real midnight, no more :59. Rate periods end exactly where the next begins (9:00 to 17:00, then 17:00 to 21:00), an end of 12:00 AM means midnight, and equal start and end means all day. The utility lookup also warns you now when a plan named Time-of-Use has no usable schedule in the public rates database — previously it silently saved a flat rate and your peak/off-peak economics quietly didn’t exist.
Stop always works, and the charging card stays put. On some chargers our record of the live session could drift from the hardware, hiding the Drawing Now / Session / Duration stats mid-charge and making Stop answer “already not charging” without stopping anything. The card and Stop now trust the charger’s live state.
Autopilot skips planning when nothing changed. Autopilot fingerprints what shapes your plan (goal, permissions, rate plan, rules, cars, chargers) and runs the full AI pass only when something actually changed, with a natural monthly refresh. Your history shows skipped days honestly.
Savings estimates got honest ceilings. Rules that protect rather than earn — backup holds, alerts — can no longer carry invented dollar figures: claims are capped by a computed recovery value where one genuinely exists, and removed where it doesn’t. Cosmetic AI edits that change nothing are dropped before they reach your rules.
Multi-system accounts: rates say what they cover. If you have more than one system, the rates screen now says the plan applies account-wide — and if your systems look like different utility areas, it tells you honestly that one plan prices everything for now.
Remove Charger moved out of thumb’s way. A small confirmed link well below the charge buttons now, where a stray tap can’t reach it.

Rule-builder & reliability update v22 July 22, 2026

Combined rules can pin their firing moment. “When the car stops charging AND the Powerwall is off-grid” now fires only at the car-stops moment while off-grid holds — previously it could also fire the instant you islanded with an idle car. The plain-English writer sets this automatically for event-plus-condition sentences, and the editor shows it: “Fires at the moment: …”.
The rule writer explains itself. When the plain-English builder has to reshape part of what you asked for — an end time Tesla can’t schedule, an event-vs-condition rewiring — it says so in a gold note right under your description instead of leaving you to wonder why a piece seems missing.
Named cars always win. “Charge Solar Sailer…” reliably targets Solar Sailer — a rule that named a car could previously land on your primary vehicle instead. Grid conditions inside combined rules now read as states (“the grid is offline”), and longer descriptions get a bigger typing box.
Sleeping cars actually wake for charge commands. Scheduled charging rules could fail with a cryptic “disconnected” seconds after firing — the car was simply asleep. Commands now wake the car, let its command channel come up, and retry.
Charger-only homes compile correctly. No Tesla vehicle, but an OCPP wall charger? “Charge the car” rules — typed or built — now always target the charger, and Tesla-car actions that could never work on your account are hidden from the builder.
Holding your battery no longer mutes your solar credits. Some AI-built “hold the Powerwall for peak” rules blocked all exports instead of just battery export — silencing solar credits your surplus should have earned. Affected rules were corrected, and a guardrail now upgrades any future “none” to solar-only export whenever you have export permission on a time-of-use plan.
Search the docs. The Documentation page has a search box that looks across every guide — type “charger” or “backup reserve” and jump straight to the right section.
Charger card keeps the session in view. When your car pauses or fills mid-charge, the card keeps showing the session (energy, duration) with Start and Stop both always visible — impossible presses answer honestly (“Already charging.”) instead of buttons vanishing. Ghost sessions from charger WiFi reconnects are closed automatically, and the EV Charger section now appears in every Devices-tab state.

Automations update v21 July 21, 2026

“Between two times” triggers. Automations can now run on a time window, not just a moment: pick between two times in the builder (start + end, wraps past midnight, day-of-week aware), or just type it — “between 4 and 9 PM hold my reserve at 80” compiles the same way every time. Windows also work as conditions inside combined triggers (“solar above 5 kW between 10 and 4”).
Honest EV charging windows. Asking for “charge between 9 PM and 5 PM” now produces a plainly-labeled rule (“EVs wait for 9 PM to start charging”) instead of one that silently ignored your end time — and when the end time is the point, the writer builds the stop rule too.
Car-charging rules without a named car now run. A charging rule that didn’t pin a specific vehicle (“start charging at 1 AM”) could fail every night with a misleading “vehicle was asleep” message. These rules now resolve to your primary car, and error messages distinguish a rule pointing at a removed car from a genuinely unreachable one.
Faster status checks. The status-page probe for the app now answers from the CDN edge — response times on status.soldial.com reflect reachability, not server warm-up.

EV Charger update v20 July 20, 2026

Add your own EV charger. A new + Add EV Charger button on the Devices tab connects any OCPP-compatible charger yourself — no waiting on us. SolDial generates your charger’s unique ID and shows exact setup steps for your brand (MOTEN/Joint, Wallbox, or any OCPP 1.6J charger), then the card comes alive the moment it connects.
Plug in, charge — like it should. Connected chargers now start charging automatically the moment a car plugs in (previously they waited for a manual Start — an OCPP quirk). A per-charger Auto-start switch turns that off if you’d rather control every session yourself or through automations.
EV chargers join automations — everywhere. Trigger on your charger starting/stopping charging or going offline/coming back, add “start/stop EV charger” as an action, describe it in plain English (“pause my wallbox during peak hours”), and Energy Autopilot + Suggestions now factor the charger into their strategies — pausing it during expensive windows or outages, alerting if it drops offline.
Honest remote-control status. Every charger brand behaves differently, so new chargers are marked “remote start/stop untested” until proven. After you try a command, SolDial asks whether the charger actually responded — your answer clears the notice and confirms support for that model. The AI respects it too: a charger that failed a control test is never commanded.
Rename and remove chargers right from the card, and the Start button no longer hides after a remote stop.

EV Chargers arrive v19 July 19, 2026

EV chargers arrive in SolDial (OCPP). Homes with an OCPP-compatible EV charger see it live in the app — status, watts while charging, session energy and duration, and start/stop controls (Pro). The charger appears under Devices as equipment and on the Cars tab as your EV’s charging surface — for non-Tesla EVs, the first time your car’s charging is visible in SolDial at all.
Billing-month briefing. Set your billing cycle day and SolDial sends a full previous-billing-month energy briefing on the first day of each new cycle — same format as the weekly one, covering your exact billing period.
Go Off-Grid no longer cries wolf. Islanding your home on purpose — the button or an automation — no longer triggers the critical Grid Outage / Grid Restored alerts; those fire only for real outages.
Your net grid cost, in dollars. Briefings now show net grid energy (imported minus exported) with an approximate dollar figure from your actual rate plan — priced hour by hour against your real peak windows, red when the grid cost you money, green when you earned a net credit.

Rates & briefing update v18 July 18, 2026

Outdated rate-plan warning. The utility lookup now flags plans whose national-database listing looks out of date — shown as “Legacy Plan — may be outdated” and sorted below current ones — and after prefilling asks you to check the numbers against your latest bill, pointing to My Plan Is Not Listed when your real plan isn’t in the database.
A weekly briefing worth opening. The Sunday email is now a designed report: your self-powered percentage front and center with a week-over-week change, a stat grid for solar / home / grid import / export, your best solar day, and how many times your automations ran.
Honest savings estimates on part-week rates. A rule’s monthly $ estimate now counts only the days its saving actually occurs — a weekday-only peak spread is ~22 days a month, not 30.
Autopilot edits can’t mis-schedule a rule. A time change that contradicts the rule’s own name is reverted automatically — your 7 PM rule stays a 7 PM rule unless the change is clearly intentional.
Docs corrections (the pairing switch is on the Powerwall itself, not the Gateway) and a sharper soldial.com tab icon.

Go Off-Grid update v17 July 17, 2026

Go Off-Grid, from your phone. Paired Powerwall systems get a Go Off-Grid button in Powerwall Management: disconnect your home from the utility grid on demand and run on your own solar and batteries — then tap Go Online to reconnect seamlessly. A confirmation explains exactly what will happen, and the button grays out when your Powerwall is below the minimum charge to island safely.
Off-grid automations. “Go off-grid” and “Reconnect to grid” are now automation actions. Each off-grid rule carries its own safety floor — only if Powerwall above N% (default 20) — and skips rather than islanding a low battery. The automation assistant understands requests like “go off-grid when my Powerwall is full.”
Operational mode in the app. Switch your Powerwall between Backup-Only, Self-Powered, and Savings right from Powerwall Management — synced both ways with the Tesla app.
Smart skip for grid commands. SolDial checks your grid state before sending: going off-grid while already islanded, or reconnecting while already on the grid, sends nothing — History simply notes it wasn’t needed.
Powerwall tab, reorganized. Four independent sections — Powerwall Management, Powerwall Devices, Wall Connectors, and Solar String Detail — each collapses and reorders on its own, and your layout is remembered.
Notifications tell you which rule fired. Automation alerts are now titled with your rule’s name instead of a generic “SolDial automation.”
Time rules fire on time. A rule set for 9:45 can no longer fire at 9:44, and a rule created at or after its scheduled time waits for the next occurrence instead of firing the moment you save it.
Combined rules wait for ALL conditions. An “A AND B” rule now fires only at the moment both sides are true.
Fewer false outage alerts. Real-time outage detection now cross-checks actual meter power before declaring an outage, so a glitchy status reading with kilowatts still flowing no longer pings you.
Public status page — status.soldial.com. Every part of SolDial — the app, the website, the automations engine, and Tesla’s own API — monitored from independent infrastructure with live state, 90-day uptime history, and incident updates. Incidents and their resolution history stay published on the page. A Service Status link now sits in the header of every soldial.com page.
Trial emails that earn their keep. A day-5 trial recap shows what your account actually did — automations run, alerts sent, measured savings — and new subscribers get a thank-you recapping the value aligned to their goals. Every lifecycle email now includes one-click unsubscribe.

Dashboard update v16 July 13, 2026

Saved by SolDial now measures Powerwall arbitrage. On time-of-use and hourly-price plans, every day SolDial actually steered your Powerwall — a real charge, discharge, or reserve change it made, not one that was already in place — is now valued at your own hourly prices: what it saved by powering your home through the expensive hours, minus what it cost to bank that energy when power was cheap. Days it can’t prove, it doesn’t claim — the same honest rule as everything else on the tile. Watch for the new receipt: “Powerwall arbitrage — charged cheap, discharged at peak.”
Honest monthly estimates — overlapping rules counted once. The “estimated ~$X/mo” figure on your dashboard no longer double-counts overlapping automations: several rules that steer the same battery cycle now count once (the largest estimate stands), and per-car charging counts once per car. Each rule still shows its own estimate — only the headline total is de-duplicated, so it reflects what you’d actually save.

1.2.1 (Build 14) Apple · Wear OS 100008 v15 July 12, 2026

Keep-on-screen goes fully dark — and sips instead of gulps. With Keep on screen enabled, dropping your wrist now blacks the screen out completely and stops data fetching altogether — previously a dimmed dial stayed lit and polling around the clock, which is where the battery went. Raise your wrist and the dial fades back in over a beat, with a fresh reading fetched that instant. Same always-there feel, a fraction of the battery. The setting now says plainly that it uses extra battery while on.
Steadier complication refreshes. Complications now answer instantly from the watch’s recent cached reading and keep network fetches on a short leash — a slow connection can’t stall a refresh cycle. The Powerwall icon in the app’s list also grows into true Powerwall proportions.
Unpair from either side — the other side follows. Unpair from the phone and the watch drops to its pairing screen on its next refresh; unpair from the watch and the phone’s paired-devices list clears on its next look — both directions, on both platforms. A flaky connection never un-pairs anything — only an explicit server answer does.
The watch offers Keep-on-screen once. Right after pairing the app asks — once, ever — whether you want the dial as your wrist-up view, with the battery trade-off stated. One tap turns it on; “Not now” never asks again (the setting stays in the gear menu).
The SolDial mark greets you. Both watch apps’ loading screens now show the SolDial logo with the phone app’s spinning animation — centered, in place of plain text.
The dial’s sayings check the panels, not just the sky. When the sky report says clouds, fog, rain, or snow but strong sun is measurably on your panels, the gloomy lines step aside for ones that match reality — live irradiance plus actual production decide, so a snow-covered roof under a bright sky still gets the honest “held back by the snow.” And every saying now fits even the narrowest phones.

Twelve new watch complications — Today, Month, and Billing totals. Every number from the watch app’s swipe pages is now pinnable on your watch face, on both platforms: solar generated, home used, net grid, and net Powerwall for today, the calendar month, and your billing cycle. They read just like the live ones — metric icon + value — with kWh marking them apart from live kW at a glance, and net values signed. Names follow one scheme everywhere: Live · Solar, Today · Grid, Month · Home, Billing · Powerwall, and so on. See the watch guide.
Tap a complication, land on that number. Tapping any SolDial complication now opens the watch app with that metric front and center as the hero KPI — a Today, Month, or Billing complication lands on its page too — instead of wherever you last left the app. Works the same on Apple Watch and Wear OS.
Stats cards for the Smart Stack (Apple Watch). The rectangular power-flow card now comes in four flavors — Live, Today, This Month, and Billing Month — each showing all four totals in one glance, ready for the Smart Stack or any rectangular slot. The Live card carries the app’s direction arrows (grid import ▼ / export ▲, Powerwall charging ▲ / discharging ▼), and Billing shows dashes until you set a cycle day instead of pretending zeros.
Keep SolDial on screen (Wear OS). A new toggle in the watch app’s settings keeps the dial as your wrist-up view instead of returning to the watch face — it dims to a clean black dial when your wrist drops and wakes to full color when you look up. Off by default — expect extra battery use while it’s on. (Apple Watch: the same behavior is Apple’s own setting — Settings → General → Return to Clock → SolDial.)
Big totals read right. Once a window crosses 1,000 kWh — a billing month on a larger system will — totals roll over to MWh everywhere on the wrist: apps, tiles, complications, and cards.

Autopilot and Suggestions can now manage grid charging and exports — within your permissions. Once your System Info answers say your utility allows it, the AI gets full flexibility with both toggles: enable grid charging for the cheap overnight window and turn it off when it ends, stop exports during low-value hours, or — on net-billing plans and VPPs — export battery power when it actually pays. Protective moves (grid charging off, exports off) never need a permission. On 1:1 net metering, battery export stays off automatically (storage agreements typically prohibit it) — unless you’re VPP-enrolled, where event exports are the whole point.
Scheduled changes no longer skip at busy moments. Hourly rule changes across all users used to fire in the same instant, and a rate limiter could silently drop some — roughly one in six boundary changes since June 20. Commands are now paced out over a few seconds and transient rejections retry automatically, so your rule’s change lands every time.
If a rule can’t run, you’ll know why. When an automation is skipped because a System Info permission denies it, the app shows a popup on your next visit naming the rule and exactly what it needed, with an Update Setting button that jumps straight to the right question — highlighted in red, the way required fields flash. Creating a rule that exceeds your permissions gets the same treatment right in the builder.
Permission questions that say what they mean. The System Info export and grid-charging questions now spell out that they ask what your utility allows — not a preference — and answering No warns you exactly how many active rules will stop working before you save.
Outage alerts double-check before firing. A “grid outage” notification now requires two consecutive readings showing the grid down — a single stale reading from the gateway (the source of every recent false alarm) arms a pending check instead of alerting. A real outage arrives a few minutes later at most; a phantom one never arrives at all. “Power restored” stays instant.

SolDial arrives on Apple Watch. The watch app lands on watchOS with everything the wrist deserves: the live power-flow dial under your real sky, swipeable Today / This Month / Billing Month totals, complications for all four numbers (solar, home, grid, Powerwall charge) plus a rectangular Smart Stack card, and one-code pairing — tap the code field and a keypad slides up, no signing in on the watch. Pairs alongside a Wear OS watch; each platform has its own slot. A SolDial Pro feature (trials included).
Swipe your watch for Today, This Month, and Billing Month. On both watch platforms, the live dial now swipes up through three more views: today’s totals, month-to-date, and your billing cycle to date — solar generated, home used (cars included), net grid (+ cost money / − banked credit), and net Powerwall (+ discharged / − charged), all in kWh under the same sky. Chevrons under the timestamp show where you are, Billing Month appears once you’ve set a billing cycle day, and the watch remembers the view you left it on.
Four Wear OS tiles. Live, Today, This Month, and Billing Month each get their own tile — swipe from the watch face straight to any of them, no app-open needed.
Watch pairing polish. The pairing screen fits every round display at every system font size, the Pair button sits with the code, and the phone now detects the watch instantly and shows the paired device — with a Cancel button if you change your mind.

SolDial on your wrist — the Wear OS watch app. Pair a Wear OS watch from Settings → Watch with a one-time 6-digit code — no signing in on the watch. You get the live power-flow dial as a full watch app and a glanceable tile — solar, home, grid, and Powerwall charge, under the same sky scene and sun position as your dashboard — plus watch-face complications for all four numbers. A SolDial Pro feature (trials included); if Pro lapses, the watch says so instead of going quietly stale.
Weather that matches your window. Current conditions now come from the nearest National Weather Service station’s live observation — the actual sky — instead of a forecast model’s best guess. If it’s overcast at your house, SolDial says so, even when the model disagrees. (US sites; international sites keep the model.)
Storms can’t hide behind mist anymore. Same-day follow-up: weather stations report “fog/mist” any minute rain isn’t hitting their sensor, which briefly labeled an active thunderstorm “Foggy.” SolDial now reads the station’s full list of observed weather (storm beats rain beats fog) and lets the forecast model upgrade a mist report when it sees precipitation — while an explicit clear-or-cloudy station report still always wins.

Your monthly savings, in a note. Once a month SolDial sends a short recap of what it measurably saved you that month — and how that stacks up against your subscription. It only arrives when there’s a real figure to show (never a “$0” message), and you can turn it off in notification settings.
Accurate bill-trend alerts for solar homes. The “your bill is trending high” notification used to price every kilowatt-hour you pulled from the grid while ignoring everything your solar sent back — alarming net-metering households with tiny real bills. It now credits your exports the way your utility does (full retail on 1:1 net metering, your export rate on net billing), frames the projection on your actual billing cycle, and stays quiet unless the projected bill is real money.
Your automation history survives a reset. Using “Start fresh” to rebuild Energy Autopilot no longer erases your past run history. Older entries stay put — marked “Removed” where the rule no longer exists — so you keep the full record of what ran and when.
“Saved by SolDial” now counts Powerwall round-trip. If you keep your Powerwall full on a 1:1 net-metering plan, you avoid the roughly 10% lost every time a battery charges and discharges. That recovered amount now shows as its own line in your savings — measured from your actual usage, once you’ve made the switch.

Ameren Illinois Power Smart Pricing is here. Hourly pricing now supports its second program: pick “Ameren Illinois — Power Smart Pricing” in Settings → Utility Rates (or look your plan up by zip) and SolDial pulls Ameren’s posted prices automatically — live price, price-threshold automations, savings math, and Autopilot strategies all work just like ComEd. And because Ameren sets prices a day ahead, your dashboard plans the whole day — the cheapest stretch to charge, the peak to ride out on battery — plus a Tomorrow tab each evening showing tomorrow’s exact posted prices, tonight.
See what SolDial saves you. A new “Saved by SolDial” dashboard section shows the real dollars SolDial’s automations have saved you — counted only from what’s provable, like charging your rules moved into cheaper hours, priced at your actual rates. The number counts up over a running savings curve, a monthly bar tracks it against what your active rules expect to save, and receipt rows show where each dollar came from. On a trial it reads as savings so far plus your monthly pace; on the free plan it shows what SolDial could save you from your own rate plan and usage. It appears the day you have a savings story to show — and not before.
Autopilot never changes your grid-charging or export settings. Those two Tesla settings mirror your arrangement with your utility — changing them could even affect your credits or compliance — so they’re yours alone. Autopilot now reads their live state, plans around them, and never flips them, for anyone.
Honest physics for keeping the Powerwall full. A Powerwall at full reserve only refills from solar unless your own Grid Charging setting is on — so with it off, a few percent of overnight drift is normal. Autopilot now knows this: with Grid Charging on, your battery genuinely holds 100%; with it off, the plan plainly says the small overnight dip is expected, and that turning on Grid Charging in the Tesla app (if your utility allows it) would pin it — instead of quietly shipping a plan that can’t deliver.
No more backwards “reached backup reserve” alerts. If you keep your Powerwall full, an alert warning that the battery had discharged to its reserve made no sense. Autopilot no longer creates it for keep-full setups — your outage alerts still cover the real event.
Dollar estimates are back on money-saving rules. Rules that genuinely lower your bill again show a defensible monthly $ estimate with the reasoning behind it; only notifications and protection or readiness rules stay unlabeled.
Steadier, more consistent plans. The same setup now produces the same Autopilot plan run to run, a full-reserve backup floor always wins over any money-saving strategy that would cycle the battery, and Autopilot no longer re-sends a Powerwall command when the setting is already where it wants it.
More “also important to me” choices. Saving money, energy independence, and backup readiness can each be picked as a secondary priority too — whichever one is your primary goal is automatically left out of the list.

One warning, everywhere, steady. When a car has a problem — like charging without reporting its power — you now see a single gold warning mark (⚠) next to the car’s name, the same on the Power Flow dial and the Cars tab, appearing and clearing together with no more flicker. It shows within about two minutes of a charge starting with no power reading (instead of 5–7) and clears the instant a real kW reading arrives.
Tap the warning for a proper explainer. On the Cars tab the warning now opens a centered popup with the plain-language fix (a quick in-car restart) and an OK button — replacing the old inline wall of text.
Live car numbers, about three times faster. While a car charges, its kW now updates roughly every 15 seconds end to end — charge starts and stops show up in well under half a minute.
Stalled car data now fixes itself. When a charging car’s live power stream goes quiet, SolDial automatically re-sends the car’s data settings — which restores the stream within about half a minute in most cases — before showing any warning. The mark only appears if that self-repair didn’t take, with an in-car restart as the remaining fix.
The charging line means measured power. Power Flow draws the animated line to a car only while a real power reading is flowing — if the reading freezes, the line stops instead of animating a stale number, and the warning now also catches a stream that dies mid-charge, not just one that never started.
Charge stops settle cleanly. When a charge ends, the car’s line, kW, charging arrow, and your Home number now settle together instead of racing each other — no more Home briefly reading 0.0 kW and no green arrow lingering after the car stopped.
Idle cars look calm again. A car that isn’t charging — including one that just finished — now shows its battery % with a quiet “– idle,” full brightness, just like the Powerwall. No more graying or an info dot for a car that’s simply parked; that muted look is reserved for cars that truly can’t report data.

Hourly (real-time) pricing plans. SolDial now supports plans where the price changes every hour with the wholesale market — starting with ComEd Hourly Pricing (BESH/RRTP). It’s a third plan type alongside Flat and Time-of-Use: pick your provider and you’re done — no windows or prices to enter, SolDial pulls the price live from then on. Looking your plan up by zip recognizes hourly plans and switches you automatically. Read the guide.
Today’s real prices on your dashboard. Hourly users get a new dashboard section named after their plan: the price right now (color-coded cheap → expensive, with a rising/falling arrow), a curve of today’s actual prices from midnight up to this hour, and today’s low, average, and high. Your price automations’ thresholds are drawn right on the curve, so you can see exactly where they’ll fire — and why they already did. These are real prices from ComEd’s own feed, never estimates.
Automations and Autopilot ride the live price. The electricity price trigger fires on live-price crossings, typically within a minute — charge the Powerwall while power is near-free overnight, ride the battery through evening spikes. Energy Autopilot understands hourly plans too: it builds price-threshold strategies around your goals instead of fixed clock windows. Grid charging still only ever happens if you’ve allowed it.
Seasonal flat rates read correctly. A plan that keeps one price all day but changes it by season — like Atlantic City Electric’s RS — now shows as a flat rate with a seasonal price instead of being mislabeled Time-of-Use, and SolDial applies the right season’s price automatically as the year turns.
Your imported rate stays current on its own. Once your plan is set from the database, SolDial keeps it up to date: when it rolls into a new season it applies the new price, and when your utility refiles the plan with new numbers it updates your saved rate to match — notifying you both times. Charging status no longer flickers to “Not charging.” The car card and Power Flow now read Tesla’s charging state directly, so a charging car shows as Charging the moment you open the app — the live kW figure fills in a few seconds later.
Charging power shows for a car you share. If the same Tesla is connected on two SolDial accounts — like a couple who both added the family car — its live charging power now shows for both of you. Before, one person closing the app could stop the other’s live kW reading, so the car looked like it was charging with no power.
A heads-up when a charging car isn’t reporting power. If your car is charging but Tesla has stopped sending its live power, Power Flow now shows a small warning mark (⚠) next to the car. Tapping the car jumps straight to its card, where a plain-language explainer walks you through the quick restart that gets the kW flowing again.
No phantom flow to a finished car. Power Flow no longer draws a trickle of power to a car that’s done charging — once a car reports Complete or Stopped, its line goes quiet.
Autopilot’s first run builds your complete starter set. The very first Energy Autopilot run — and every “Start fresh” rebuild — now covers every strategy that applies to your rate plan in one pass, including price rules on hourly plans, instead of starting small and filling gaps on later runs.

Charge your Tesla from surplus solar. A new per-car Charge on Solar control tops your car up from the extra power your panels make once your home and Powerwall are covered — and pauses when the surplus fades, so you’re charging on sunshine instead of the grid. Confirm your car and charger are set up for it with two quick toggles. Add an optional Powerwall priority to fill your battery to a percentage you choose before any solar goes to the car — so you can keep your everyday backup reserve low and still bank the Powerwall up to your target on sunny days before topping off the car. You also set your everyday “charge from any source” level (the yellow marker on the charge slider): it acts as a floor so the car never sits too low, and it tells Energy Autopilot and Suggestions your real everyday charge cap, so their recommendations match how you actually charge. It reads your Powerwall’s charge in real time, so it reacts right away instead of waiting on Tesla’s slower cloud reading.
Home or Away on your cars. Each car now shows whether it’s Home or Away from Home, and Power Flow and automations use it so a car charging somewhere else doesn’t count against your house. SolDial never tracks your location — it reads a flag Tesla provides that marks the car home or away, based on a home location you set in Tesla that we never see. When that flag isn’t available, SolDial falls back to working it out from your Power Flow math.
Start fresh with Energy Autopilot. A new Start fresh button wipes Autopilot’s automations and rebuilds them from a clean slate — handy after you change your setup or goals. It’s available once every 5 hours, and the confirmation reminds you it will also forget rules you’d deleted on purpose, so Autopilot may recreate those.
A 7-day free trial on both plans. The free trial now covers the yearly plan too, not just monthly — every new subscriber gets their first week free on either plan, with a clearer checkout that spells it out.

Automate on your car’s charge level. A new automation trigger fires when one of your cars reaches a charge level you set — whether it’s charging up to it or running down to it. Perfect for “let me know when my car hits 80%” or “tell me when it drops to 20%.” You can build it from the picker or just type it in plain English.
See your EV charging on the Energy Chart. Car charging now appears as its own Car band stacked on top of home use, so a big overnight grid draw reads clearly as your car instead of unexplained import. It shows whenever you charge through a Tesla Wall Connector, and adds up across multiple cars.
Weather alerts, only once. A multi-day weather alert (like an Extreme Heat Watch) now notifies you a single time for its whole active period, instead of repeating every few hours.
No more false low-solar alarms. The “solar production looks low” alert now cross-checks your live production before sending, so it won’t fire on a perfectly normal day.
Larger text size fits the screen. At the Larger accessibility text size, the notifications panel and the bottom tab labels no longer get cut off, and the Current State rows no longer overlap the status label with the kW value.
Quieter car status. The little status label under each car now appears only when there’s actually something to do (like finishing setup) — instead of always showing “Real-time” or “Reconnecting.”
Energy Autopilot and Suggestions are now labeled Beta. These AI features are live and improving — if something looks off, you can report it right from Account → Help.
Delete an Autopilot rule and it stays gone. Autopilot no longer recreates an automation you’ve removed on purpose.
Smarter suggestions on 1:1 net metering. On a flat 1:1 plan, SolDial now recommends keeping your Powerwall full for backup rather than a low reserve — since the grid already banks your solar one-for-one.
A clear screen when there’s no energy system yet. If your Tesla account doesn’t have a Powerwall or solar system connected, SolDial now says so plainly instead of showing sample data.
More reliable account deletion. Deleting your account now completes cleanly and sends you to Tesla to remove SolDial, even on a slow connection.

Tell SolDial what matters most. A new Energy Goals section in Settings lets you choose what your system optimizes for — saving money, energy independence, backup readiness, or a balance — set a minimum backup reserve you never want to drop below, and flag extras like battery longevity or keeping an EV ready. Energy Autopilot and Suggestions build every recommendation around your choice.
See your system during an outage. When the grid goes down, Power Flow now marks the grid with a red × and 0 kW, and the Powerwall shows your live hours of backup remaining at your current usage, so you know how long you can ride it out.
Combined grid numbers for a linked array. If you’ve linked a second array (like a barn roof) into your main system, your grid export and home totals now include that array’s share instead of under-counting it.
Critical Peak Pricing. If your utility runs Critical Peak Pricing event days, you can now enter the critical-peak rate and flag an event day so your savings and automations price those hours correctly. Rate setup also warns you if your custom time-of-use windows leave a gap or overlap.
Clearer connection status. The live status word now reads WiFi, Cloud, Degraded, or Offline — “Offline” meaning SolDial isn’t receiving data, clearer than the old “Outage” that could be mistaken for a power outage.
Automation history shows what changed. Tap any entry in your Automation history to see exactly what it moved — for example “Backup reserve: 20% to 100%.” Rules you fire yourself with Run now are tagged Manual test, so a manual test is never confused with an automatic action.
The time filter shows your time zone. The Choose Time Filter control now reflects your system’s local time zone instead of always showing Eastern.
Smoother onboarding. Pick your text size right on the welcome screen, with each step fit to one screen (no scrolling or cut-off), consistent buttons, and a step to set your Energy Goals.

More than one Tesla system? SolDial now handles them as a set. Switch between your systems from the top of the dashboard, rename them so they’re not cryptic Tesla labels, and show or hide the ones you don’t want cluttering the view.
Combine a linked solar array. If a second array feeds into your main system — say a separate barn or shop roof backing through your Powerwall’s panel — you can link them, and your production, home use, and Power Flow then reflect the combined system, closing a gap where Tesla doesn’t credit the feeder’s output to your main meter.
Automations that understand multiple systems. Energy Autopilot and Suggestions now size solar strategies to your combined production and only act on the system that actually holds the Powerwalls — a generation-only array has nothing to control.
Hold to read the Energy Chart on Android. Press and hold to see exact values at any moment, drag to scrub across the day, and tap away to dismiss — the way it already worked on iPhone (it had been vanishing after a second).
Today’s Solar Pace stays to-the-minute and now lines up with the Energy Chart instead of lagging behind it.
Settings save as you go. Onboarding and Settings now save each field as you enter it, so you won’t lose a change by moving on — Save is still there to catch anything required.
Automation alerts read correctly when they fire. A weather or Powerwall alert now fills in the right day and your live backup hours at send time, instead of freezing whatever was true when the rule was created.
Enter sub-dollar rates correctly. A rate like “.0827” per kWh no longer drops its leading part.
Faster Powerwall reserve and vitals — refreshing about every 5 seconds instead of every 30, so changes show almost immediately.
Tap the live status to learn what it means. The LAN / Cloud / Degraded / Outage word on the dial now opens a plain-language explainer — including that “Outage” means a data gap, not a power outage.
Clearer setup without a Backup Gateway. A system that doesn’t have a Tesla Backup Gateway now gets a plain “cloud data only” message instead of a failing retry loop.

“Today” chart no longer loads blank. Fixed the Energy Chart sometimes coming up empty for Today after the app sat in the background (e.g. overnight) — it now re-pins the window and refetches the moment you reopen.
A full Powerwall no longer clips the chart. The battery and reserve lines have room at the top, so a 100% Powerwall sits cleanly inside the Energy Chart instead of touching the edge.
More accurate weather. SolDial never shows the forecast high as the current temperature anymore — the current reading and the day’s High/Low are separate. The dial’s weather readout was also rebalanced for legibility.
Weather stays in sync across your devices — and updates sooner. Conditions (and the matching background photo) now come from one shared source, so your phones agree, and they refresh about 3× more often.
Storm Watch reads correctly and reacts fast. Fixed it sometimes showing “disabled” when it was actually on, and changes now reflect within about 5 seconds.
Wall Connector stays visible off-network. Your Wall Connector keeps its last-known details when you leave your home network, instead of dropping to a reduced view.
Set your default chart range. Choose the time range your charts open to — Today, billing cycle, and more — saved to your account.
Fewer false “Outage” flags. The live indicator no longer briefly flips to “Outage” right after you reopen the app or toggle Wi-Fi — only a real, sustained loss of data triggers it.
A clear prompt if your Tesla session expires. Instead of quietly stopping, SolDial now shows a reconnect banner and sends a notification, so you can reconnect in one tap.

Faster, local Power Flow. On your home Wi-Fi with a paired Powerwall, the dial now reads straight from your Powerwall Gateway over your local network and refreshes every few seconds — no more waiting on Tesla’s cloud to catch up. SolDial falls back to the cloud automatically when you’re away or off your network.
See where your live data comes from. The live status now leads with its source — LAN when reading from your local network, CLOUD when it’s coming from Tesla, or OUTAGE when live data isn’t reaching the app from either source.
Power Flow knows when your car is charging away. If you’re charging at work or a Supercharger, SolDial no longer draws the charging line back to your house — it recognizes the car isn’t home.
Pick your text size. A Smaller / Default / Larger control in Settings scales the whole app, and it’s now solid on both iPhone and Android — no clipped screens, hidden cards, or misplaced popups at larger sizes.
Smoother section reordering. Dragging a Dashboard, Devices, or Cars section over an expanded one no longer flickers.
Cleaner load with the photo hidden. If you’ve turned off the dial’s time-of-day photo, the app now opens straight to the plain background instead of briefly flashing the photo first.
Full “Last Synced” times. Powerwall, Solar String, and Wall Connector all show the full date and time they were last synced.
No more repeat weather alerts. Weather-based automations now notify you at most once a day instead of occasionally repeating.
Lighter on data. SolDial no longer re-downloads the same energy history several times when multiple cards need it, trimming background data use.

Personalize your Dashboard and Cars. Collapse and reorder sections — and cars — by dragging the handle or tapping it to move them; Power Flow stays pinned at the top. Your layout saves to your account and follows you across iPhone and Android.
Your car’s software version. Each car shows its current Tesla software version and flags whether it’s the newest across the SolDial fleet.
Standalone inverters stick around. If part of your solar runs through a non-Tesla “string” inverter, its production keeps showing in Solar String Detail even when it isn’t generating right now.
Wall Connectors. Your Tesla Wall Connector(s) now appear in the new Devices tab — live charging power, unit and handle temperatures, grid voltage and frequency, firmware version, and lifetime energy delivered. Tap the connector to recolor it to match yours, tap the eye to reveal its serial, and see which car is plugged in.
Both connectors, even when they share power. If you have two Wall Connectors sharing a circuit, the second one — which Tesla keeps off your home network — still shows up with its live charging status.
Wall Connector firmware status. Each connector shows whether it’s on the current firmware or an update is available.
Devices tab. The Powerwall tab is now “Devices.” Collapse its sections and drag (or tap) the handle to reorder them — and SolDial remembers your layout next time you open it.
Bigger, more readable text across the whole app — dashboard, charts, navigation and settings.
Redesigned rate setup. Enter your ZIP first, then pick your utility and plan — your rates fill in for you. Seasonal time-of-use windows now show their date range (e.g. 6/1 – 9/30).
Correct subscription store. Your plan now correctly shows whether it's billed through the App Store or Google Play, with cleaner handling when you subscribed on another device.

Better car names. Vehicles show their model (e.g. "Model Y," "Model 3") when a custom name isn't available from your Tesla account, instead of a generic "Tesla."
More accurate solar estimates. Your forecast re-checks its accuracy against your current system details, with a new "Recalibrate" button in Settings → System Info if you change your panels.
Hide the dashboard photo. Tap the eye icon on the dial to fade the time-of-day photo away for a clean, plain background — and tap again to bring it back.
Tidier Powerwall cards. Each Powerwall's serial number now sits neatly under its name.
Android Powerwall pairing. Pairing now reliably finds your Powerwall Gateway during setup on Android.
Reliable live updates for new cars. Fixed a case where a newly added Tesla could get stuck and never show live updates even when it was fully connected. SolDial now keeps retrying on its own, and if a car still needs a nudge it shows a quick one-step restart.
Powerwall degradation matches your warranty. Each Powerwall’s degradation is now measured against its 13.5 kWh rated capacity — the same figure your Tesla warranty is based on — so it lines up with what you’d check against your warranty.
