Pairing your Powerwall

Pairing connects SolDial to your Powerwall Gateway directly over your home Wi-Fi — no password to dig up, just a switch flip.

• Per-pack vitals — individual capacity, health, and charge for each Powerwall.
• Per-string solar detail — voltage, current, and watts per solar string.
• Works during internet outages — the local path keeps reporting even when your ISP is down and the cloud can't.

How it works

SolDial talks to the Gateway's local interface, which we paired by reverse-engineering the protocol through hands-on testing. The flow is passwordless: tap Begin Pairing, flip the switch on your Gateway when prompted, and you're paired. SolDial stores the pairing key securely (encrypted at rest) and uses it for ongoing local reads.

Requirements

You need to be on the same local network as your Gateway to pair, and the SolDial mobile app (the local connection is a native capability). Cloud data via Tesla's Fleet API works everywhere; the local path adds the fast, outage-resilient layer on top.
