On your watch — Apple Watch & Wear OS
SolDial's live power-flow dial runs natively on Apple Watch and Wear OS — solar, home, grid, and Powerwall charge under your actual sky, plus swipeable kWh totals, tiles, and watch-face complications.
Live on Apple Watch now — ships with SolDial 1.1 on the App Store. The Wear OS app is in final Play review and lands very soon.
Pairing your watch
Open the phone app and go to Settings → Watch, then tap the pair button to mint a one-time 6-digit code. On the watch, enter that code — on Apple Watch, tap the code field and a keypad slides up — and tap Pair. That's it: no signing in, no password on the watch, and the code expires after use. The phone screen detects the watch the moment it connects and shows it as paired.
You can pair an Apple Watch and a Wear OS watch side by side — each platform has its own slot, and each can be unpaired from the phone individually.
The watch app
The main screen is the same live dial as your dashboard: solar production, home usage, grid import/export, and Powerwall charge, with the sky painted from your site's real weather and the true position of the sun and moon. A timestamp under the dial shows when the numbers were last refreshed.
Swipe for totals
Swipe up (or turn the crown/bezel) to move through four views:
Live — the dial. Today — today's totals so far. This Month — calendar month to date. Billing Month — your utility billing cycle to date; this view appears once you've set your billing cycle day in the phone app.
Each totals view shows solar generated, home used (EV charging included), net grid, and net Powerwall — all in kWh. Net grid is signed the way your bill is: + means you imported, − means you exported for credit. Net Powerwall: + means the battery discharged to power your home, − means it charged. The watch remembers the view you left it on and opens there next time.
Tiles (Wear OS)
Four glanceable tiles — Live, Today, This Month, and Billing Month — can be added to the tile carousel, so a swipe from the watch face reaches any of them without opening the app.
Complications & Smart Stack
Both platforms offer watch-face complications for all four live numbers — solar, home, grid, and Powerwall charge — in the small round and corner slots. Apple Watch adds a rectangular SolDial card for larger slots and the Smart Stack. See widgets & complications for the phone-side widgets.
Requirements
The watch experience is part of SolDial Pro (free trials included) and needs the SolDial phone app signed in on the phone the watch is paired with. If Pro lapses, the watch says so plainly instead of quietly going stale.
Troubleshooting
Tiles or complications missing from the picker right after installing? Restart the watch — both watch platforms cache the tile/complication registry and a reboot re-scans it. Numbers look stale? Check the timestamp under the dial, confirm the phone shows the watch as Paired in Settings → Watch, and make sure the watch has a network connection (its own Wi-Fi/LTE or the phone nearby).
